The Baron of a Barony is a ceremonial position. It's the Baron's Castle. A Baron may speak for the Crown, make and give Baronial awards. We have one Baronial Award, the Winged Trine.
The First Baron Cleftlands is Laurelen Darksbane, he stepped down as Seneschal to take the title in 1978 when Cleftlands Became a Barony. His Lady, Ithriliel became Baroness two years later. They resigned from their post at the directive of King Rangvalder April 11th 2002, two days before the Coronation of Alys and Valharic.
The Second Baron and Baroness of the Cleftlands (Only the premiere baron may be called 'Baron Cleftlands') were invested on September 25th, 2002, three days before Alys and Valharic left the Midrealm Thrones. Being only our second Baron and Baroness in 24 years, Sir Ephraim and his Lady Madelaine were in for some interesting, and hopefully happy as well, times.
The Third and current Baron and Baroness of the Cleftlands are Edward Brackenburye and Milesent Vibert.
